Stepping Into the Story – The SparkFish Easter Experience
Stepping Into the Story – The SparkFish Easter Experience
Every spring, something special happens in churches across Reigate, Redhill, and Horley — Year 5 pupils step into the heart of the Easter story through the SparkFish Easter Experience.
This interactive re-telling brings the events of Easter to life in a way that’s both engaging and thought-provoking. Children experience key moments from the story — from the waving of palm leaves as Jesus enters Jerusalem, to the powerful scene where Pontius Pilate asks the crowd to choose who should be crucified. In that moment, the children become part of the story themselves.
The drama is brought to life by our team of actors, who stay in character to answer pupils’ questions after the performance. It’s a powerful way for children to connect with the story and explore its meaning in a safe and thoughtful environment.
Some schools walk to their local venue, while others further afield are offered transport on one of our buses. The whole experience is free of charge, but we’re always grateful for donations, which help us continue offering this unique opportunity year after year.
The Easter Experience is more than just a performance — it’s a chance for young people to step into history, reflect on big questions, and explore the meaning of Easter in a way that stays with them long after they leave.
